Hurricane Hennah I have never had a lab before. When I purchased this cute chocolate lab, I had no idea the nightmare I was in for. My dog was destroying everything, extremely head strong and jumping on counters. When I found Marlene at PAWSitive Solutions, I was in tears and ready to give my dog away. I did a "Board and Train" package with Marlene and when I came back in two weeks to pick up my puppy, my puppy was a totally different dog! I had to keep checking to make sure it was the right dog. German Shepherd Builds Self Confidence When our German Shepherd, Spice, was a puppy, we enrolled her in a puppy training class at a pet center. It was not an individualized class and Spice became more and more traumatized by the discipline that was applied without regard to her own needs. She became very fearful. Luckily, a friend who was familiar with dog training classes, recommended Marlene Ring of PAWSitive Solutions in San Antonio, Texas to us. The first time we met Marlene, Spice was standing beside me. As this new person approached, Spice ran behind me and cowered. But, Marlene was okay with it. She saw immediately what Spice needed. She and Spice started working together. We would meet at different places in the city and the two of them would walk off in their obedience training sessions.
Marlene gave Spice a job and taught her how to do it. Spice quickly became much more confident. After Spice understood what was expected, we started "In-Home Training" to teach us our part in our interaction with Spice. Our other dog, Sugar, really wanted in on all the fun. Sugar is a mixed Samoyed and is very food oriented. So, while Spice was learning obedience in the way that a German Shepherd thinks, Sugar was zipping around doing all kinds of tricks in the way of a high energy, food oriented dog. Throughout the years, Marlene has remained in our lives. Dogs go through stresses and emotional issues just like people do. Whenever, something comes up, we call Marlene and she fixes it. Also, the dogs love Marlene. She is their "Aunt Marlene." When we go out of town and they are in need of dog boarding, they stay with her. My dog is now GREAT I called on Marlene when I got my dog Cody as a pup. I knew nothing about training a dog and I knew I needed help! Actually it wasn’t the dog that needed training; it was me! The dog was more than willing to learn and Marlene taught me how to work with him in a positive way. Cody responded to the gentle training so beautifully! Marlene also boards at her home and I can’t think of a better environment! She keeps the # of dogs to a small #, so there is never the ‘kennel’ feel.
